Dolce & Gabbana Economic Analysis

The graph above shows the the overall turnover of Dolce & Gabbana between 2011 and 2017. There is a general pattern of growth in the brands turnover, other than the decrease of 129.57 million Euros between 2012 and 2013 and again between 2016 and 2017 were there is a decrease of 7.19 million Euros. Although, the Dolce & Gabbana has had a strong increase previous to the second decrease in 2016, the decrease could either be an anomaly or a fluctuation due changes in the general economy. One could argue that the small decrease in the turnover is not due to the Dolce & Gabbana's brand beginning to decline, more that the growth is becoming stagnant. 

This graph juxtaposes an article from 2017 by Business Insider stated that "D&G filed their statutory financial statements on March 31st, 2017 with profits of €56.78 million - a real surge compared to almost 919 thousand euros over the same period of the previous year". They also say that "the two founders, between 2016 and 2017, each put 35 million Euros in their pockets. Therefore, the latest D&G budget seems to have proved particularly profitable, especially for them." 

The contrast between the Business Insider article and the the graph from Statista highlights that the brand is in no way declining, but perhaps not growing as fast that it has in previous years. The profits, however, indicate the Dolce & Gabbana's place as a major luxury fashion brand. Thus, also suggesting some of the moves that they are making are still continuing to work in the ever changing fashion industry.
