A Trip To Flannels

On Saturday 22nd December 2018, I visited Flannels in Liverpool in order to gather some primary research on Dolce & Gabbana, as it was the an accessible place that I could get information about the brand without travelling to London to visit the only D&G store in the UK.
Flannels is a change of designer stores which sells a large number of luxury brands, including their clothing, shoes and accessories. Flannels opened in the Metquarter, Liverpool in April 2006, before opening a new store with the development on Liverpool One in 2008.

Question: Are many Dolce & Gabbana items sold at Flannels?

Employee answer: It is quite popular for clothes and bags but not as much for shoes.

Question: Do other competitive brands sell better in Flannels than Dolce & Gabbana?

Employee: Dolce & Gabbana is not as popular in the north, people tend to buy more of Kenzo and Moschino. D&G is more popular down south with other brands such as Prada.

Question: Is there a certain demographic who buys Dolce & Gabbana?

Employee answer: It is a more older demographic that buys D&G in this store.

Question: Have you heard about any of the controversies surrounding Dolce & Gabbana? For example, the recent backlash over racist comments over China.

Employee answer: No, I haven't heard about any of the controversies of D&G, however, I do not think that any backlash against the company would affect people's buying habits in Liverpool. For example, there are many protests against Canada Goose in London, due to their use of real fur, but Canada Goose is still extremely popular in Liverpool without any backlash.
